This Is Me Trying To Be All Cool About It

Bohemian Bowmans

You guys. I don’t even know where to start. After taking a blogging break for a few weeks I have so many saved up words on the tips of my fingers that I don’t know which ones come first. Especially about this. So I’m just going to start with the obvious. Three little words.

We’ve been approved.

There’s a lot we still don’t know (budgets, timelines . . . ) but there’s one big fat thing that we do – it’s gonna happen. The organization has graced us with a yes. I just. I don’t have words. Honestly, I haven’t even fully absorbed it, which is made easier by the fact that we don’t officially have an assignment yet, just a promise of one.

In some of the preliminary talks it seems possible that we’ll be able to get a job in a particular city in South Asia which JUST HAPPENS to be the only place Jeremy’s ever visited in the whole country. Coincidence? Maybe, if you spell “coincidence” with a “G-O-D”. But again, that’s not official, just likely. Who knows.

Believe me, when I know more, you’ll know more. The current “plan” is to stay in Canada through the summer (for Jeremy to finish the summer semester) and then pack up and drive that long road back to Georgia where we’ll await some training that we have to attend in October that’s in Florida. And to start putting the “fun” in fundraising.

  1. Wonderful! I just thought I’d mention that you might be able to start learning Hindi in BC as there is a large Hindu community in the area.

  2. I’m so excited! :D

Kind of wish you’d be staying ‘Canadian’ for your assignment through Wycliffe, as it is one of the few organizations we support financially. (I’ll still support via Wycliffe USA, but that won’t give me a receipt *pout*) If you can get furlough in our area (Atlantic Wycliffe Training Centre is in some of the most beautiful area in North America, and only an hour or so from me) that would be AWESOME, but I’m sure there are furlough centres in the US too, again *pout*.
CONGRATULATIONS for getting in w/ a seriously awesome group, who do fundamentally life & society changing work.

  5. What wonderful news!
