Plank Pulling is a little thing we do every Thursday around here. The one day a week that we strongly resolve to ignore the multitude of specks and sawdust around us and pull one bona fide plank from our own eye. Matthew 7:3-5 style. It’s intimidating and it’s embarrassing and it’s humbling and it’s therapeutic all rolled into one.
Why do we do it? Well, because I think it’s important to confess our sins to one another, and to routinely look in the mirror and assess how our reflections of Christ are holding up. To make sure our fingers are not always and only pointing outwards. To show the world that we’re not perfect, and we’re sorry, and we’re seeking to lay those imperfections at the feet of God so that they can be refined.
And mostly, to keep it real, y’all. So come back this Thursday and link up your own story of what plank God has shown you in your own eye. And then pull it!
