Parents, do not.

I am on a mission to relax. Parenting wise, that is. My kids are RUNNING my life. In the reactive, stressed out, bad way. I have GOT to get back on the proactive side of things.

The most important parenting verse in the Bible.

My plan? To say yes more. To lower my standards of nutrition and tidiness. And to put down whatever I’m doing every time they have a story or question and give them my full attention, with out my full annoyance.

I have Colossians 3:21 ringing in my ears.

“Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.” – NLT

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.” NASB

“Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” NIV

“Parents, don’t come down too hard on your children or you’ll crush their spirits.” The Message

I am on a mission to not discourage, exasperate, aggravate, embitter, come down too hard, or crush the spirits of my children!

  1. Well, I just love this!

  2. Amy, this is an interesting glimpse back into the shifting of my parenting paradigm's last year. :) It was also, as you can tell by the no comments, before anybody "followed" my blog. Lol.

Funny how far I've come as a parent since 6 months ago when I wrote this. I didn't even know a thing such as unschooling existed last summer, but it has helped me so much in the last few months.
