20 Questions – An Exercise in Hilarity

Recently a kind internet acquaintance mailed us a care package and one of the things included was a hand-held 20 Questions game.  And for the past few weeks, we’ve all, young and old, been having quite a riot with the thing.

We’ve been continuously impressed with it’s accuracy - how does it know what we were thinking zombie or okapi?!  So one night, sitting around with my red headed bff and the husband, I decided to stump it. I decided to make it guess a man. But more specifically, my man

1) Is it an animal?

Yes

2) Is it small?

No

3) Does it come in different colors?

Sometimes

4) Would you like to be one?

No

5) Would you give it as a gift?

No

6)Is it larger than a microwave oven?

Yes

7) Would you use it daily?

Yes

8) Does it have short fur?

Yes

9) Does it provide protection?

Yes

10) Can you find it in a house?

Yes

11) Is it used in a sport?

No

12) Does it provide protection?

Yes

13) Is it very large?

Yes

14)Does it have a hole in it?

…Yes

15) Is it black and white?

Sometimes

16)Can you see it in a zoo?

No

17) Is it fluffy?

Sometimes

18) Does it have a long tail?

No

19) Is it a small mammal?

No

20) Can you find it in an office?

Sometimes

I thought, there’s no way this thing is going to win, I’m too smart, too conniving!  So imagine my surprise when the next digital sentence to scroll across the mini-screen was …

It’s a soul mate?

Yeah.  Cue incredulous laughter.  It’s the little things in life, y’all … the little things.

*Also, Husband took it to school one day and, during some down time, his 10th graders were caught trying to make it guess a certain male body part (cause, ya know, 10th graders are really mature and stuff).  They nearly all had an aneurism when it guessed … wiener-schnitzel.  *shakes head*

  5. I have literally gone to Walmart with a friend of mine and we have sat on the floor in the toy aisle and played this game for a couple hours. Neither of us had the money in college to actually buy the game, haha, so we just borrowed it temporarily. I swear it guessed every word we picked!

I tend to over thing a lot of the questions. Like, “Can you mail it?”. I’m always like, “You can mail anything! Including a giraffe!” Lol.
